Masao Yoshihara designed and began manufacture of torque multiplying lug wrenches over 30 years ago. His wrenches became very popular in his native Japan where trucks and busses have 41 mm lug nuts designed to be tightened to 600 ft. lbs. but are often over tightened up to 1000 ft. lbs. Based on the excellent reception in the Japanese market, Mr. Yoshihara soon began exports to many countries all over the world.

In addition to the manufacture of lug nut wrenches, Mr. Yoshihara is a major producer and distributor of transportation and material handling equipment, tools and supplies. Shown here are his corporate headquarters in Osaka.

North America

Bob Mull first discovered the torque multiplier lug wrenches in 1984 in a barter deal in which his company exchanged national advertising in the trucking industry for a dozen wrenches he would come to label as the Times 12 Geared Lug Nut Wrench (the X-12 Original). The dozen wrenches were quickly snatched up by heavy haul truckers, a bus garage and a motor home owner who had a bus conversion RV.

In 1985 Bob's company (TIA Products) began direct imports from Mr. Yoshihara. Soon he was the distributor for the USA. Today, Bob and his wife, Betty, are partially retired and living outside Asheville, NC. Their warehouse, order processing and shipping is done from Clinton. TN.
